Congratulations to Anthony W from our Derby Returneeship for winning July’s Learner of the Month.

He was reluctant about the course because of his dyslexia but once we offered him support and a choice of coloured workbooks, he really stuck in and made great progress.

At the end of the course I presented Anthony with a ‘Motivational Certificate’ for his excellent progress and determination to complete the course; he was over the moon and said; “It’s the first certificate he had ever achieved”.

Anthony proved throughout the course that he had extensive knowledge but was reluctant to put this into words and this had held him back for years.

For the team, this made us feel as though we had really made a difference to Anthony’s confidence for the future and for him as a person; he was proud of himself for what he had achieved as well as the acknowledgement and recognition we had rewarded him for.
