After being unemployed for some time, Maya was one day made aware of the training by her Work Coach, and from the information given felt that joining the course would help her secure a job. Maya found that her time on the course really helped to boost her confidence as well as helping her learn new information that contributed to her secturing a job! Congratulations, Maya!
What were you doing before you started the programme?
I was on Universal Credit after being employed for quite some time.
How did you find out about the training?
I had details about the Release Potential Civil Service course/Coaching & Mentoring course shared with me by my Work Coach during a visit to the Job Centre.
Why did you decide to join?
The advice and information I was given by my coach led me to believe that by participating in the course and the new things I could learn would help me secure a job.
What did you think of the training? How did it help you?
The training really helped with my confidence. There was a lot of the new information I learnt which contributed to me securing my job and I’d say 80% – 90% of the course material covered assisted me in doing this.
Were there any barriers or obstacles you had to overcome?
The biggest barrier was trying to find a job. Release Potential helped me see what was available and how to apply. I was given so much support and training as well as ongoing knowledge.
What are you doing now?
I’m working in a Customer Service role working for Jet 2.
What impact has the training had on your life?
I’ve secured so many skills around great communication, good listening and problem solving and also how to apply these in the workplace. Everything I learnt on the course I am able to put into practice in my new job.
What are your plans for the future?
I really want to focus on my new job and achieve as much as I can.
What would you say to someone who was thinking about doing the training but wasn’t sure?
I’d tell anyone looking for a job that they should embark on the training available with Release Potential. It’s been life changing for me and it could be for them too. So much to learn.
