What is a Returneeship?

Returneeships are an exciting two week pre-employment training programme. Designed to emphasise the development of employabilty skills for job seekers.

Following the completion of the classroom learning, our Aftercare Programme is tailored to provide 1-2-1 support to our customers, with their next steps in the form of job alerts for their desired sector, weekly engagement calls and application support.

Learners in the classroom will study a range of sector based skills and competencies required for the workplace.

Are you suitable for a Returneeship?

The concept of the Returneeship is to target the increasing number of individuals aged 50+ who find themselves out of work, facing long term unemployment, and support them returning to work.

You could be suitable for a Returneeship if you…

1. Have been unemployed for any amount of time and are motivated to work in either full-time or part-time employment.

2. Are willing to develop new skills and rebuild on old skills to ensure you are ready to work.

3. Are not taking part in any other employment, training or enterprise programme or scheme funded by the Secretaries of State either full or part time.

What is a Returneeship?

A Returneeship is a unique programme designed to support unemployed individuals, who are a distance from the job market, make a positive step towards gaining employment.

What are the scheduled hours for the classroom element?

Each course will have slightly different schedules, with some courses lasting for 10 consecutive week days, starting at 9:00AMand finishing at 4:30PM. Other courses may run for more than 10 days, but will only last for half a day such as 9:00AM to 12:00PM or 2:00PM to 5:00PM

Am I eligible?

If you are currenly unemployed, ideally 40 years of age and over and living in England you may be eligible for a Returneeship. Even if you have completed one or more of the qualifications listed, you may still be eligible to complete the Returneeship. Contact us for a more detailed assessment of your eligibility.

How long will it take to complete my Returneeship?

2 weeks – A starting activity that lasts either 1 or 2 days, course size dependent, followed by 10 days in the classroom.

What is the content of a Returneeship?

After two days working on a exciting team project, you will work towards developing your understanding and skills in the following areas:

  • Employability skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Safeguarding and Prevent
  • Developing IT skills

If at any point during the course you require any form of assistance, any of the Release Potential tutors will be more than happy to lend a helping hand.

What happens when I complete my Returneeship?

Upon completion of your Returneeship, Release Potential will continue to stay in touch with our Aftercare Programme, providing personal support in the form of job alerts for your desired sector, weekly engagement calls and application support. The certificates for the qualifications you achieved during the Returneeship will be sent via post soon after, once all final processing has been completed.
