Read below to hear more Sobia’s story!

How did you find out about the training?
The National Careers Service introduced me to the course after I expressed an interest in trying to get into the Civil Service. They gave me details about the course and also told me about Release Potential.

Why did you decide to join?
The fact the course was targetted to the area I wanted to try to secure a role in encouraged me to enrol and take part.

What did you think of the training? How did it help you?
The training I received, massively helped with how to tailor my personal and behaviour statements so they were suitable for the roles I wanted to apply for. I also really benefited from the Coaching & Mentoring and felt it was a real asset to the course and has shown me how to apply this to others who need Coaching & Mentoring support.

What are you doing now?
I’ve secured an Education, Health, Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) Officer role with Birmingham City Council.

What impact has the training had on your life?
The training has helped me understand why and how to support others who need coaching and mentoring.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans are to get established in my new role and learn as much as possible.

What would you say to someone who was thinking about doing the training but wasn’t sure?
Give the training a try. It’s really accessible, you get ongoing, helpful support from the tutors and others in the team and I would definitely recommend it.
