Before joining the course, Daljit had been self employed, but due to work being intermittent decided it was time to look for new opportunities. After talking to their Work Coach, Daljit found out about the course and got in touch with us. Though Daljit found the course to be intense at times due to it being full time, it was still beneficial with the engagement and information provided. Daljit has since gone on to work within their local Job Centre in a fixed term position, but hopes to stay in the role permanently, and we can only wish the best of luck!
What were you doing before you started the programme?
I had been previously self employed since 2012. Work was intermittent so I was looking for new opportunities.
How did you find out about the training?
Although Self Employed I was being supported by my Job Centre. I found out about Release Potential and the courses they offered via my Work Coach, Surinder. Surinder gave a little insight around the course content which sounded interesting, so I made further enquiries.
Why did you decide to join?
The emphasis on having access to information around Coaching & Mentoring Level 3 was particularly appealing, as well as what Civil Service entailed. It sounded really interesting and I wanted to find out more about how I could be successful.
What did you think of the training? How did it help you?
The training helped me immensely. The training was intense being full time, but it got me engaged, and into thinking about things in a different way, as well as fabulous interaction in connection with Zoom classes, Masterclasses, assignments and homework.
Were there any barriers or obstacles you had to overcome?
No barriers to speak of.
What are you doing now?
I’m working as an Assistant/Service Delivery Officer within my local Job Centre.
What impact has the training had on your life?
Life is very different going back into full time employment. Travelling into work now rather than working from home but overall it has been really positive and very enjoyable.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m really keen to stay in the role. It’s only fixed term initially but it’s an opportunity to prove myself and hopefully secure a permanent job.
What would you say to someone who was thinking about doing the training but wasn’t sure?
Go for it. An eye opening experience providing access to new opportunities, opening doors not ever considered before.
