During the summer of 2024 we ran a programme in partnership with North of Tyne Combined Authority, Tees Valley Combined Authority & Durham County Council to address the ‘CREW’ shortage in the TV, Media and Film industry in the North East. With the support of North East Screen we ran three programmes throughout the North East to support aspiring candidates gain valuable experience within the TV, Media and Film Industry.

The course was designed in 5 phases, carefully planned to mimic the workings of the industry to ensure that our customers can move into a professional setting. The 5 phases were;

Onboarding: Introducing the customers to a production environment

Pre-production: Providing a technical overview of the various department of a production

Production: Using the skills developed to capture their ideas

Post Production: Fine tune their work through video and sound editing

Showcase & Business Pathway: End of course premiere of groups project and presentation to show understanding of the industry.

At the end of the programme we spoke to our candidates to capture their feelings and what they plan to do next!
